THEME : “ ESSENTIAL GLOBAL LEADERSHIP SKILLS - Mastering The Challenge of Multicultural Leadership” .
GOAL : Explore the cultural dynamic leadership as a gateway for maximizing productivity and effectiveness of multicultural team.
OBJECTIVES :
• Learn culture impacts concepts and practices of leadership
• Discuss similarities and differences in cultural values and communication styles of different types of leaders
• Recognize our own “ leadership styles” and what works and what does not from different cultural perspectives
• Examine “ cultural sensitivity” and “ cultural competency” as leadership concepts
• Develop understanding of cross-cultural leadership practices
• Acquire cross-cultural skills and strategies for leading multicultural teams
ABOUT US
We, build since 2001 in Jakarta, are training and consulting company for cultural diversity as well as system management, business strategic and international business. Our commitment is to provide the most comprehensive global cultural diversity training for Director, Manager or anyone who want to know Essential Global Leadership in order to improve productivity and effectiveness of their multicultural team.
The content is tailor-made to either corporate or public sector.
The trainer for cultural diversity is Mr. Eliot Milstein from USA. He has already had many experiences in training of multicultural diversity in Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia and USA. The participants were both local and international companies such as Japan, Korea, Belgium, India, China, Taiwan etc.
ESSENTIAL GLOBAL LEADERSHIP SKILLS TRAINING
1. INTRODUCTION AND PROGRAM OVERVIEW

2. THE DYNAMICS OF CULTURAL ASSUMPTIONS
• Small group cultural activity: “ Loving Your Leader”
• Perceptions, assumptions and expectations of leaders
Outcomes : Opportunity to experience leadership perceptions arising from a cross-cultural activity.
3. EXPLORING THE CONCEPTS OF LEADERSHIP
• “ Leadership” as viewed in different organizational and cultural settings?
• What is an effective “ leader” ?
• Expectations of multicultural leadership
• An assessment of your own leadership style
Outcomes : Realization that not everyone holds the same definition of effective leaders and that truly high performance leadership is situational.
4. LINKING LEADERSHIP TO “ CULTURE”
• Levels of culture ( deep and surface levels)
• A model of culture as it affects how we work together
• Cultural self-awareness ( e.g. Asian, European, North American, etc.)
Outcomes : Better knowledge of our own individual culture and how it drives the way we lead and participate in teams. Participants will gain a better understanding of how their “ world view” is shaped by their cultural values, beliefs and attitudes. They will gain keener insights on ways to modify their leadership styles and expectations, achieving greater results in working with those who are different.
5. CULTURAL VALUE DIFFERENCES
• Value contrasts among cultures
• The values matrix tool: A small group activity
• How values affect leadership norms
Outcomes : An approach into one' s own cultural values and how they impact perceptions of leadership in other cultures. The participants evaluate their own cultural values and beliefs, providing them with a baseline for viewing and evaluating other cultures. These insights will enable us to transition to a better understanding of an organization’ s core and business values, and plan strategies to model dynamic leadership from a common platform.
6. COMMUNICATING EFFECTIVELY ACROSS CULTURES
• Dimensions of verbal communication
• Dimensions of non-verbal communication
• High- and low-context communication and cultures
• Effective leadership communication styles
Outcomes : Develop a better understanding of how we communicate with people who are similar and different. Design strategies for effective communication and leadership skills with people of diverse cultural backgrounds.
